Egyptians at Trewirgie Junior School

By Lel April 26, 2019

A Fantastic write up in Trewirgie Junior School Newsletter this month.(October 2015)

Our visiting artists, Emma and Lesley, have really wowed our Year 4’s this week. Our children had an amazing art day linked to their termly topic on Ancient Egypt. The day was fun packed, very busy with an exciting buzz continuously throughout the day. The children learnt about the ancient Egyptian Gods and their style of writing called hieroglyphics.
The children impressed Emma and Lesley with their outstanding skills in enlarged and detailed drawing, printing and foil embossing. The activities really enthused the children and we hope they will come home telling you all about the new skills they have learnt.
If the children would like to draw their own Egyptian God using foil embossing, foil cooking trays are idea for this art activity, (but we advise an adult cuts the foil to size). The Year 4 teaching team would be thrilled to see children develop these skills further through independent work at home and we would love to see any work produced as a result of the day.
We would like this opportunity to thank Lesley and Emma for another unique, fun, challenging art day, once again. The day was enjoyed by all that were involved.

Thank you for such lovely comments!
